To get to the gates of DisneyWorld was a process in itself. Our shiney rented minivan with 700 miles on it blended perfectly with the thousands of other sparkling new rental cars in the parking lot. We unloaded the double stroller, cooler, and backpack and headed for the treck of a lifetime. The kids, excited and nervous to see "The World" and Ryan and I, nervous about entering it with a 2 year old.
A tram pulled up in the parking lot to take us to the ticket gate where we experienced sticker shock until Grandpa K flashed his well-earned Florida "senior" resident card and got a discount on the kids tickets. We then waited in a line (one of the many dozens) to board the monorail onto the kingdom.
The thing that amazed us most was how spread out DisneyWorld is. It is flat and covered with trees, so you don't see Epcot, Animal Kingdom, or any of the other parks until you walk through the gates to them.

I was also amazed at how spread out the Disney World Parks and resorts are. I couldn't believe that we had to park, buy our tickets, then take a monorail just to get to the Magic Kingdom entrance. Can you believe that Disney has only developed a part of the acreage it owns? Maybe we are to see even more parks in the future!
