24 Hour Vacation

We pack the fun to the brim and travel fast. In 24 hours we went up to Idaho Falls and stayed at a hotel for the night for a quick trip. My old college roommates Amy and Marci and their families came and swam at the hotel with us for a bit. Then we went out to dinner at a yummy Mexican restaurant and then on to Marci's house for a evening of laughs. I hope Marci and Amy can forgive me about my hang up with pictures of Jesus Christ hanging in their homes. Really, I do love pictures of Jesus, but I feel like He is watching me if a picture of Him is in every room. I seriously get paranoid about it. Of course I let this spill out without even realizing Marci has pictures of Christ in every room in her home. Sorry Marci!

The next day we slept in, swam some more at the hotel, and went out with Amy's family to see their new home. The kids thought the lava rock garden was the coolest thing ever and Amy let the boys bring home a number of rocks to our house. They thought they were so strong to pick up these huge rocks that were super light. We ate too much at Reed's Dairy in Idaho Falls (the best chocolate milk and ice cream is made there). As usual, we forgot to take pictures. I have no idea how we manage to do that. But we remembered to take photos on our way home during our hike in Blackfoot over a former lava flow. The kids spent 45 minutes looking for jackalopes and another 20 minutes rolling down the grassy hill.
