Bloggers Block

Some pictures from A New You in Hawaii with my mom last summer. Yes, we dressed up and did a hula dance. I totally broke the coconut bra.

Is it possible to have writer's block on a blog? I totally have. Thus the lack of posts the past few months. I'm overwhelmed. With life. My little family is great. Kids are silly. They talk a lot and interrupt me everytime I type a blog, thus contributing to the lack of posts. I worry a lot about Travis's education. He qualifies to go to Kindergarten next year just barely making the deadline, but that will put him being the youngest child in his class and with developmental delays (autism) which are two big strikes against him. So, Ryan and I don't want to put him in yet unless we can have him repeat kindergarten if necessary. I give the school district credit -they do an awesome job and he has come a long way. But I'm worried taking him out of school for a year because they won't provide services for him otherwise may be a disadvantage as well. I'll have to lean on faith that we'll make the right decision for him. But if anyone has a crystal ball that works, send it my way.

My mom is going through cancer testing for lymphoma. That's been stressful. Ryan's mom has been struggling with health issues as well and is having surgery in a few weeks. My dad has pneumonia again. Emilee, my sister-in-law www.emilee-ellis.blogspot.com is hanging in there. It's painful to watch her struggle. I tear up daily about it. I'm going to miss her. Terribly. Travis and I have been going down each Monday to spend it with her. Travis, who is oblivious to most things, knows what day is Monday and wakes up and says, "Mom, let's go to Aunt Emilees!" He does this without any reminders -he just knows. He was very dissapointed when we didn't go down last week because they were out of town and kept asking and asking to go there. The other week we were crying over her latest test results and sweet Travis sat down and held my hand and kept saying, "Oh, it's okay." Then he preceeded to make funny faces and imitate Curious George to make us laugh. It worked! Well, got that off my chest, but we are well. Just those that we love are struggling.

I love your cat in the sink header picture. And lucky you going to Hawaii!

I'm glad you gave updates on your family. I'm so sorry to hear that so many of them are struggling with their health. That's awful. I hope you can get Travis in to Kindergarten with the option to do over. That sounds like your best choice. I haven't heard anything from Laurie for a long time. I hope she's okay, too! (I'll write her later today.)

I'm glad I can keep up with you on your blog!

Jenn, I must say, I admire your strength. I can tell that it emulates and is affecting your family. Hang in there. It sucks to say this, but sometimes life is just hard. You and your family are very inspirational.
