How I Fell in Love with Ryan

It was love at first sight when I met Ryan in September 1995. As I got to know him, my heart loved him almost just as fast. Growing up, my dad and brothers were particular about the appearance of their cars. Their morning happiness could go to irritation if a cat climbed on their car and left dusty footprints, let alone a speck of dirt or dust enter the car from daily use. So, I grew up assuming all guys were as protective of the appearance of their cars as my family. Then I met Ryan. We went on a long date up to Park City and I packed, for some odd reason, sliced apples and caramel dip. At some point the caramel dip fell upside down in the car all over the place. I immediately tensed up, waiting for groans and yells to come out of Ryan's mouth/ (Because really, who wouldn't be upset about sticky caramel all over the car?) Ryan laughed. I thought he was just being nice for me and that his irritation would flow out later on in the day. But it never did. We cleaned it up. He was more disappointed that the caramel was gone instead of the mess in the car. And that is when I knew I really loved him. Deep down forever and eternity loved him. Those feelings have not changed. I love you Ryan. Happy Valentine's Day.

There's no use crying over spilled caramel -- especially if it wins you a wife! What a great story. Happy Valentine's Day!
